Here is our checklist to organize the local runs!
Dear Event-Managers, Organisers!
This information is helpful to organise a local KagyuRun. Of course there are many possibilities for additional ideas and activities (practise day, barbecue, party?) or a different set up. Enjoy the event and take some pictures of the day for a documentation afterwards, that would be great.
Best wishes and a lot of fun, your KagyuRun-Team!
the project timetable as overview is:
- till 22.08.2009 pre-registrations as runner and/or sponsors. To register beforehand is always good. e.g. it makes it easier for the organisers to create a runners list.
- 23.08.2009 conduction of local KagyuRuns worldwide (Becske Run with Lama Ole: 8:00 a.m. start, 20:00 p.m. Livestream local time)
- after the run till 30.08.2009 transfer of km-results ("collection of km") and additional registration of spontaneous runners with their results
- approximately till 17.09.2009 international random assignment of sponsors and runners with email notification. The runner-sponsor assignment is after the run, to only assign those runners, who submitted a km result.
- till 31.12.2009 collection and transfer of donations (see below 5.)
- 31.12.2009 final presentation of results (km and money)

2. Preparing a local KagyuRun
Since there are plenty of possibilities and ideas to organise KagyuRun like a nice day/ party with friends, we just want to give a few important hints:
- Running courses with 2 to 5 km are the best to make it easy to participate for everybody. People run as many rounds as they want. To count the kilometres, an easy way is to slip a rubber ring onto the wrist of the runners each time they pass the starting point.
- Find a place, that is convenient for a day to spend - with space for picnic, beverages, with sanitary facilities nearby, and shelters for rain and heat.
- KagyuRun is a private event and everybody takes part on his own responsibilty. Still it is good, if you especially care for enough water, so that nobody gets dehydrated, and for first aid, just in case.
- Invite the people to take part and find out for how many you are organising the run. KagyuRun teams can send you the list of registered runners for help. Good is, if you tell your runners to get registered for KagyuRun (check www.kagyu-run.org ).
For questions or more details please contact us (see email adresse below) or get in touch with other Event-Managers in your region.
3. Get a list of runners
You can create a list of registered runners of your center shortly before the event, the link and function for doing so, are provided here on the website - see menu "Organizers news" (eventmanager get a login from KagyuRun team - please contact orga[at]kagyu-run.org and we send you the login). The list is also good for transferring the results. If you have difficulties or questions please write and contact either contact the KagyuRun team or your direct contact person (we have contact persons in KagyuRun team for different regions). If spontaneuos runners join in during the event, just add their names and if possible their email adresses to the list.
4. Record and transfer the results
Please record the results – how many km each runner did during the day - in your lists and transfer the results as soon as possible after the run: There are two options for doing so: 1. via Internet (see link/menu "results") or 2. e-mailing the list with name, registration number and km of the runnners to results@kagyu-run.org.
We will publish the results on www.kagyu-run.org as soon as possible! But until we have a final result (km worldwide alltogether, winners etc.) it might take some time.
5. Collecting and transferring the donations
After the run took place and the results are complete, sponsors will be notified about the results of their runners. To the Event-organisers we will send a list of the sponsors of their center, to help collecting the donations from them and to transfer the money to the KagyuRun team (via people who travel/e.g. Caty) or via bank transfer to following account.
